Prof. Neal Tai-Shung Chung is a Jade Mountain Chair professor at Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Technology, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan. Before joining NTUST, he was a Provost’s Chair Professor at the ChBE dept of National University of Singapore in 2011-2021. His research focuses on polymeric membranes for clean water, clear energy and pharmaceutic separation. In 2005-2008, he worked as a Senior Consultant for Hyflux, led and built its membrane research. He became a Fellow in the Academy of Engineering Singapore in 2012. He received the Underwood Medal from IChemE (Institute of Chemical Engineers, UK) for exceptional research in separations and Singapore President’s Technology Award in 2015. He was ranked as No. 6th in Chemical Engineering worldwide by “the top 2% scientists in the world” published by Stanford University in both 2022 and 2023. He has served as a professor at Purdue (2000-2005), Brown (2005-2012), and Northeastern (2012-2021; serving as Chemical Engineering Department Chair from 2012 - 2019) Universities and has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health in over 20,000 patients. His technology is also being used in commercial products to improve sustainability and renewable energy. Dr. Hossain is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering (SoMME) and has a joint appointment in the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at The University of Queensland (UQ). He currently leads a medium size research group within the Australian Centre of Materials Nanotectonics where he is the Co-Director. Dr Hossain has extensive expertise in the area of Materials Science and Engineering and one of the world’s leading researchers in the field of applied superconductivity. He has extensive expertise in a research field in which he has 12 years of experience. His research career has strongly supported by a number of awards, including the Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) from ARC, Strategic Research Fellowship from Australian Academy of Sciences, Priming and Bridging grant award from Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, the Vice-Chancellor’s Emerging Researcher Excellence Award and Vice-Chancellor’s Excellent Industry Partnership Award from University of Wollongong (UOW). His innovative research at the intersection of materials science, magnetism and applied superconductivity has already resulted in the elegant and efficient design of magnetic and superconducting materials for a range of applications including MRI, power cables, fusion magnets and chemical biosensors. Rami Ahmad El-Nabulsi holds a PhD in Particle Physics, Mathematical Physics and Modeling from Provence University (currently Aix-Marseille University), France and a diploma of advanced studies in Plasma Physics and Radiation Astrophysics from the same institution. He worked with different worldwide research departments in UK, South Korea, China, Greece, Thailand, India, etc. and he is currently affiliated to the Czech Academy of Sciences and to Chiang Mai University. Dr. Mayank Garg is a Materials Scientist with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, Delhi NCR. Rabi Elabor is a distinguished researcher in environmental science at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University School of the Environment in the United States, with years of experience in material and environmental science.
