× Prof. Neal Tai-Shung Chung is a Jade Mountain Chair professor at Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Technology, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan. Before joining NTUST, he was a Provost’s Chair Professor at the ChBE dept of National University of Singapore in 2011-2021. His research focuses on polymeric membranes for clean water, clear energy and pharmaceutic separation. In 2005-2008, he worked as a Senior Consultant for Hyflux, led and built its membrane research. Vladimir Torchilin got his M.S, Ph.D., and D.Sc. degrees from the Moscow State University and currently serves as a University Distinguished Professor and Director, Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine, Northeastern University, Boston. He has published more than 450 original papers, more than 200 reviews and book chapters, wrote and edited 15 books, and holds more than 40 patents. Jieshan Qiu, Cheung-Kong Distinguished Professor of Carbon Science and Chemical Engineering at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. His research encompasses both fundamental and applied aspects of carbon materials and science, with a focus on the methodologies of producing carbon materials for energy storage and conversion, catalysis, and environment protection. He has published 900+ papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Mater., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., PNAS, Nature Commun., ACS Nano, Angew. Dr. Hossain is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering (SoMME) and has a joint appointment in the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) at The University of Queensland (UQ). He currently leads a medium size research group within the Australian Centre of Materials Nanotectonics where he is the Co-Director. Dr Hossain has extensive expertise in the area of Materials Science and Engineering and one of the world’s leading researchers in the field of applied superconductivity. He has extensive expertise in a research field in which he has 12 years of experience. His research career has strongly supported by a number of awards, including the Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) from ARC, Strategic Research Fellowship from Australian Academy of Sciences, Priming and Bridging grant award from Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, the Vice-Chancellor’s Emerging Researcher Excellence Award and Vice-Chancellor’s Excellent Industry Partnership Award from University of Wollongong (UOW). His innovative research at the intersection of materials science, magnetism and applied superconductivity has already resulted in the elegant and efficient design of magnetic and superconducting materials for a range of applications including MRI, power cables, fusion magnets and chemical biosensors. Thomas J. Webster’s (H index: 123; Google Scholar) degrees are in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (B.S., 1995; USA) and in biomedical engineering from RPI (Ph.D., 2000; USA). He has served as a professor at Purdue (2000-2005), Brown (2005-2012), and Northeastern (2012-2021; serving as Chemical Engineering Department Chair from 2012 - 2019) Universities and has formed over a dozen companies who have numerous FDA approved medical products currently improving human health in over 20,000 patients. His technology is also being used in commercial products to improve sustainability and renewable energy. Flemming Cassee, inhalation EUROTOX board certified toxicologist since 1995, supports government authorities, the World Health organisation and other public bodies by coordinating and conducting research and providing advice to policymakers. He is the professor in Inhalation Toxicology at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences at the Utrecht University, the Netherlands. He has taken various management position and is the senior scientist for the Inhalation Toxicology Unit. He is has been the President Dutch Society of Toxicology, as well as the President of the Inhalation and Respiratory Speciality Section and the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Speciality Section of the USA Society of Toxicology. Federico Rosei (MSc (1996) and PhD (2001) from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”) is Full Professor at the Centre Énergie, Matériaux et Télécommunications, Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, Varennes (QC) Canada, where he served as Director (07/2011–03/2019), currently on leave. He held the Canada Research Chair (Junior) in Nanostructured Organic and Inorganic Materials (2003–2013) and the Canada Research Chair (Senior) in Nanostructured Materials (2016–2023). Since January 2014 he holds the UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage. Since March 2023 he holds the Chair of Industrial Chemistry at the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Trieste. Dr. Rosei’s research interests focus on structure/property relationships in nanomaterials and their use as building blocks in emerging technologies. His research has been supported by multiple funding sources from the Province of Quebec, the Federal Government of Canada as well as international agencies, for a total in excess of M$ 18. Monica Lira-Cantu is a Full Professor and Group Leader of the Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic Energy Group at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) in Barcelona, Spain. Her research interests are the synthesis and application of nanostructured materials for emerging solar cells like dye-sensitized, hybrid, organic and perovskite solar cells and the integration of different types of energy technologies for self-power electronics and the production of green energy. She has more than 135 publications, including 125 published articles in scientific journals, one book, 10 book chapters, and 11 patents. She is a reviewer for more than 30 scientific organizations and more than 50 scientific journals. She worked as a staff chemist for ExxonMobil Research & Engineering (USA), a visiting professor at EPFL (Switzerland) and has been visiting scientist at the Center for Advanced Science and Innovation (Japan), Oslo University (Norway), and the Risø DTU National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy (Denmark). Adolfo Speghini holds the position of Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Verona, Italy, since October 2019. Born in Verona, Italy, he earned a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Padova, Italy. Dr. Speghini has been Visiting Scientist in prestigious research centers worldwide. His collaborations have included institutions such as the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) in Montreal, Canada); the Polish Academy of Sciences (Wroclaw, Poland); Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany); Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (Spain); and Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (Mexico DF, Mexico). Dr. Ennio Tasciotti is the Founder and Director of the Human Longevity Program of the IRCCS San Raffaele and a Professor of Applied medical sciences and technologies at the Department of Human Sciences and Promotion of the Quality of Life at the San Raffaele University. Previously he served as the Chairman of the Department of Nanomedicine (18 faculties, 12 admin staff, 120 researchers), as Founder and Director of the Center for Biomimetic Medicine at the Houston Methodist Research Institute (15 affiliated faculties, 80 researchers), and as Founder and Director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Regeneration (20 surgeons, 50 research fellows and residents) at the Houston Methodist Hospital, one of the top 20 hospitals in America. Dr. Mehdi Anwar currently serves as a Full Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineehttp://www.ee.uconn.edu/anwar-research/keynote-plenary-invited-talks/ring department. As a Jefferson Science Fellow he served as Special Adviser for Technology Transfer and Innovation in the office of Intellectual Property Enforcement, Economic Bureau, U. S. Department of State. He worked on number of issues, including the United Nations High Level Panel on Access to Medicines and a new investment facilitator tool, “WIPO Match.” As the Special Adviser for Technology Transfer and Innovation, he was invited to discuss technology transfer at workshop on Building Bridges: Sharing Best Practices on Commercialization of Technology, in Warsaw, Poland, an event put together by U. S. Embassy Warsaw in partnership with Swiss and Canadian Embassies and several Polish institutions. At present, Dr. Anwar is assisting U. S. Department of State and other U. S. Government organizations and the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States to stand up the newly established United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries. Dr. Mehdi Anwar is currently working on (a) ZnO Nanowire based UV detection and energy harvesting, (b) III-Nitrides and Oxide Semiconductor -based high power and high temperature quantumcascade lasers and (c) RF Oxide Semiconductor and III-Nitride HFETs and (d) memristors, to name a few. His team pioneered the design of low noise antimony-based-compound-semiconductor (ABCS) HEMTs with quaternary buffer/barrier and ternary, with a measured fT around 200FGHz and Fmin of 0.82dB at 15GHz. He has presented over 40 plenary and invited talks at national/international conferences, published over 240 archival journal publications, conference proceedings and book chapters and edited 9 volumes. He serves as an Editor of IEEE JEDS and served as an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices (2001 – 2010) and serves as the conference chair of the international conference on Terahertz Physics, Devices and Systems, at SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing (2009-2015). He is an SPIE Fellow.

Elisabetta Esposito is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology (CHIM09) at the University of Ferrara (Italy). She achieved her University Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the University of Ferrara, Italy in 1991. From 1993 to 1997 she trained a PhD internship on Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology of the Department of Pharmaceutical Science, at the Ferrara University, reaching her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1997, discussing the thesis "Microparticulate and semisolid systems for controlled release of drugs" at the University of Pavia. From 1998 to 2018 she continued her research activity at the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, University of Ferrara with 8 fellowships. In 2017 she obtained the qualification of Full Professor in the competition sector 03/D2, Technology, Socioeconomics and Medicine Regulations BANDO D.D. 1532/2016, participating at the National Scientific Qualification Competition. Her research activity in general concerns nanosystems for the controlled release of molecules with biological activity. The main research topics are the production and characterization of ethosomes for topical delivery of natural drugs, the production of nano-and microspheres based on completely biocompatible materials, the production and characterization of semisolid smart dosage form.

Dr. Li Hong received his Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He was awarded the Singapore Millennium Foundation (SMF) postdoctoral fellowship after graduation. In 2013, he joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at Stanford University as a postdoc where he focused on electrocatalysis for green hydrogen generation (affiliated with Center of Sustainable Energy through Catalysis). He also worked with Samsung to develop health monitoring biosensors for wearable devices. Dr. Li Hong joined the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering/School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in June 2016 as a Nanyang Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenue in March 2022.

Manuela Malatesta graduated with honors in Biology at the University of Urbino (Italy). She was Research Staff member at the Centre of Electron Microscopy of the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), then Assistant Professor at the Institute of Histology and Laboratory Analyses of the University of Urbino. Presently she is Associate Professor of Human anatomy at the University of Verona. She is an expert in morphological and histochemical techniques at light and electron microscopy applied to in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro models under physiological, pathological or experimental conditions. Her research interests mainly concern nanomedicine, regenerative medicine, ageing and neuromuscular diseases. In particular, in nanomedical research she has been applying multimodal microscopy to reveal the spatial and functional relationships between nanoconstructs and cell and tissue components. She co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, 6 book chapters and about 250 communications at congresses. She is editor of the European Journal of Histochemistry and has been Editor-in-chief of the journal Microscopie for fourteen years.

He earned his doctorate from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene. During his doctoral journey, he had the opportunity to expand his research experience as a visiting scholar at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBU), where he gained valuable international research exposure. Dr. Mouaici’s research primarily focuses on the analysis of solar energy systems. Dr. Lena Yadgarov received her Ph. D from the Department of Materials and Interfaces at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. After completing her Ph.D., Lena joined Tel Aviv University in the departments of condensed matter physics and chemical physics as a postdoctoral researcher (2016). Jan J. Dubowski is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Université de Sherbrooke, Canada. His research interests focus on technology of semiconductor materials and laser processing of III-V quantum semiconductors, with specific emphasis on photonic properties of epitaxial nanoheterostructures designed for sensing of surface immobilized electrically charged biomolecules. He has published over 300 research papers, reviews, book chapters and conference proceedings, and he is a holder of 7 international patents. Dr. Dubowski is a Fellow of SPIE – the International Society for Optics and Photonics, and a recipient of the Canada Research Chair in Quantum Semiconductors.

Maria Grazia Ortore obtained a Master Degree in Physics in 2002 in La Sapienza University, Rome, and a PhD in Physics in University of Perugia in 2006. After several postdoc grants, from 2013 to 2021 she was researcher (Applied Physics) in the Marche Polytechnic University. From 2021 she is associate professor. Her research focuses on soft-matter, foremost biological systems, in solution, mainly investigated by Small Angle X-ray and Neutron Scattering techniques. From her PhD Maria Grazia Ortore has been studying proteins in solution. She studied model proteins and their behavior in binary mixtures, developing models to quantitatively describe their solvation shell. Hence, she studied protein-protein interactions, and moved to the wide issue of amyloidogenic proteins. In 2013 she was the recipient of a MIUR grant (FIRB2012) of 845 k€ to study new therapeutic strategies against Alzheimer’s Disease. She was speaker at several national and international conferences, including the Biophysical Society Meeting in the USA, and the European Neutron Scattering Association Meeting. She organized a Mini-colloquium of the Condensed Matter Division of the European Physics Society in Groningen, in 2016, and a PhD School for “X-ray and Neutron Scattering for Life Sciences” in Venice in January 2020. In the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences she is in the committee for “Quality Teaching Assurance” for the Biology Science degree, and she teaches Physics, as fundamental course, from 2011. She is the author of more than 50 internationally refereed papers, received more than 600 citations. Her h-index is 22. She has obtained the national eligibility as full professor in 2018.

Maddalena Sguizzato earned the PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Ferrara in 2020. Currently, she is Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Ferrara. She was Visiting Researcher at NC State University, USA, and at University of Oslo, Norway. She obtained the National Academic Qualification of Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Technology in 2023. She is co-author of several publications in the field of drug delivery. Antonio Pantano is full professor at the Engineering Department of the University of Palermo (Italy). He earned is M.S. (1999) and Ph.D. (2002) in Engineering Mechanics from Michigan State University. From 2002 to 2004 he was Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology working on carbon nanotube enabled materials. Dr. Nuseibah Al Qtaish Assistant Professor with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology. In terms of teaching experience, Dr. Nuseibah has been working as an Assistant Professor at Amman Arab University in Jordan since October 2023. She has also gained research experience as a research assistant at the Cell Therapy Center at the University of Jordan from 2020 to 2022. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 2013. Dr. Yu Zhang conducts his research in the field of semiconductor thermoelectric nanomaterials and solid-state refrigeration. In 2020, His obtained his Ph.D. degree at the University of Barcelona, Spain, under the guidance of Professor Andreu Cabot, focusing his research efforts on the exploration of nanocomposites for thermoelectric applications. Following the completion of his doctoral studies, he assumed the role of Research Scientist at the Catalan Institute for Energy Research. In 2021, he transitioned to the United States to serve as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Pennsylvania State University, collaborating with Professor Priya. Prof. Konstantin Borodianskiy is affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering and holds the position of Vice Dean for R&D at Ariel University, Israel. He completed his Ph.D. at Bar Ilan University, Israel in 2011 and pursued postdoctoral studies at the University of Windsor, ON, Canada, specializing in coatings utilizing plasma-synthesis methods. Sara Francesconi, PhD is researcher in Plant Pathology at the Department of Agriculture and Forest Sciences (DAFNE) at the University of Tuscia, Viterbo, Italy. She received the Ph.D. degree in chemistry in 2012 from the University of Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania. Now, she works as scientific researcher at National Institute for R&D in Microtechnologies – IMT Bucharest and her research area includes: (i) metallic nanoparticles synthesis (AuNPs, AgNPs, PtNPs) with controllable size and shapes; (ii) controlled assembling of functional nanostructures/nanomaterials for sensing applications (i.e. plasmonic platform for nanoplastics detection); (iii) functional nanomaterials – polymers-metallic nanoparticles-based nanocomposites for methanol electrocatalysis in proton exchange membrane fuel cells; (iv) nanostructurated silicon- based nanomaterials for sensing/drug delivery applications. So far, more the 80 ISI articles have been published in famous international journals, like Scientific Reports, COLLOIDS AND SURFACES A-PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND ENGINEERING ASPECTS, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Applied Surface Science, JOURNAL OF PHOTOCHEMISTRY AND PHOTOBIOLOGY B-BIOLOGY.

Gülcihan Güzel Kaya received her B.S. degree (Honors) in chemical engineering from Hacettepe University (Türkiye) in 2013, M.S. degree in chemical engineering from Selcuk University (Türkiye) in 2016, and Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from Konya Technical University (Türkiye) in 2020. In the course of Ph.D., she has worked as a visiting researcher in Valencia Polytechnic University (Spain) for one year. Now, she works as associate professor in Konya Technical University, Department of Chemical Engineering. Her research interests include silica-based mesoporous materials, polymer composites, photothermal materials and antibacterial phototherapy applications.

As a research scientist, Dr. Omid Akbarzadeh Pivehzhani works with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He used to work at the Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Centre, University of Malaya in Malaysia from 2016 to 2020. His main research area is heterogeneous catalysis and catalytic reaction engineering. He has spent 13 years in academic-industrial projects as a research officer and post-doctoral. Dr Omid has worked as a chemical engineer for 5 years in the oil and gas industry. He developed advanced smart catalysts, especially for the oil and gas industries. Dr Omid has contributed to two PETRONAS Research Sdn Bhd industrial catalyst projects and worked on an international Airbus R&D project in NANOCAT. Currently, he is the PI of the graphene catalyst project at Hokkaido University in Japan, a project member of the FRGS grant in UTP and assigned to the NANOCAT centre project. Dr. Omid was the Chairman, keynote speaker and organising committee of many international conferences. He is currently the supervisor of three PhD students from different countries. He has published many ISI papers; and book chapters and has two approved and granted patents. Also, he has hands-on experience and passed several pieces of training on handling different types of equipment which are being widely used for material synthesis, characterization and performance evaluation. He is in close collaboration with other departments, government agencies and universities worldwide. He was a visiting researcher at Jiangsu University China and Hokkaido University Japan. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and a Senior Member of the Hong Kong Chemical, Biological & Environmental Engineering Society. Omid was awarded a full fellowship from the University Technology PETRONAS during his PhD and was involved as a lab demonstrator and teaching in the different courses of chemical engineering. He was awarded the Silver Medal at the 27th International Invention & Innovation Exhibition (ITEX 2016), Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia and the Silver Medal of Post Graduate Research Project at the 35th Science & Engineering Design Exhibition (SEDEX 35).

Cao Guixin, female, professor, doctoral supervisor. Obtained a doctorate from Shanghai University in 2006. After working at the school for one year, he went to Germany to do postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute. Worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the Ohio State University Department of Physics for about ten years. In December 2019, the talents were introduced to work at the Materials Genome Engineering Research Institute. So far, more than 60 SCI articles have been published. Among them, he has published more than 20 papers as the first author and corresponding author in famous international journals such as Phys. Rev. Lett., Scientific Reports and so on. Some of the research results were selected as one of the six major scientific and technological achievements in the field of physics in the "2006 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Report". In 2017, he was invited to be appointed editor of the international professional journal Elyns Journal of Material Science and Techniques. He has been invited to give conference or branch special lectures at top international academic conferences many times. He is a special reviewer for Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. B, J. Appl. Phys. and Solid State Communications.

Jose Muñoz Martín was born in Sabadell, Barcelona, Spain, on January 17th 1988. In 2006 he started his degree on chemistry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). In 2010 he received his degree after which he continued with the Master of Science and Technology in Chemistry. In 2011 he graduated for his master assignment under supervision of Prof. Dr. Francesc Teixidor at Inorganic Synthesis and Catalysis group at ICMAB-CSIC. The title of the project was ‘Development of a method for coupling aromatic rings to metallocarboranes’. In September of 2011, he was incorporated as Ph.D. student under supervision of Prof. Dr. Maria del Mar Baeza and Prof. Dr. Francisco Céspedes at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, within of group of Sensors and Biosensors. The aim of his project is to study the ratio of physical properties of MWCNTs with electrochemical response of (bio)sensors, owing to the low electrochemical reproducibility of (bio)sensor which contain carbon nanotubes is due to the low homogeneity of raw nanotubes.
